Mr. Evan Mennen is the latest Agricultural teacher, already making strides not only for the students, but staff as well. Although he says freshmen may be his favorite, all grades are welcome to take his variety of classes, which include Small Animal Care 1, Vet Science, Mechanics, and more.
Ever since he took agricultural classes at Bay Port High School, Mr. Mennen knew he wanted to be an agricultural teacher like those before him.
After working hard on a small family-owned dairy farm in Pulaski and doing a few internships, he made the leap to teaching.
“I really enjoy building those connections with students, learning about their background and where they came from and how I can encourage them to become an active member in the agriculture community,” says Mr. Mennen.
With his variety of experiences, Mr. Mennen brings something essential to the agricultural team, able to bounce ideas off the staff and help the school’s team grow. Eager to jump into teaching for the first time, Mr. Mennen chose to stay in the area close to his family, getting the opportunity at DPHS.
He hopes to meet all of you soon, to help each student grow to their fullest potential.
