Homecoming 2025 was certainly a spectacle. But was it enjoyable? Well, most students agree so.
First came the week leading up to Homecoming: Games, dress-up days, and toilet paper – staples of a good HoCo week – were all involved.
In tandem with the week came dress-up days, such as PJ Monday or Wig Wednesday. They were well-received by the students, and when surveyed by the Crimson Aviator, 91.8 percent of DPHS students who responded reported participating. This number varied little between grades, too, with the lowest participation being 91.1 percent (sophomores), and the highest being 92.2 percent (seniors).
And even without data or quotes, a quick glance through the hallways on any day of the week could’ve said just as much; it was hard to find people uncompliant with the theme, especially on days like wig Wednesday, where faux neon hair was everywhere.
This sentiment about the week’s daily themes was echoed in the overall rating of HoCo week: every grade seemed to agree that the week had been about a 7.5/10 on a scale of enjoyment. This rating included more than just dress-up days, extending to the Powerpuff and varsity football games, and the overall atmosphere.
The data had no outliers, either, with the highest being the freshmen’s 7.89, and the lowest rating being from juniors, at a 7.28.
DPHS students had less positive opinions about the dance, though. Although the freshman class seemed to enjoy the dance, with an average rating of 8/10, all other grades seemed to disagree. Other grades had an average rating of about 6/10, the juniors once again having the lowest rating of 5.5/10.
Scarlet Walters, a freshman, voiced a similar opinion. “The dance itself was less fun than the rest of the stuff (the dress-up days/activities).”
But even though the survey results plainly show students’ dislike for the dance, many people interviewed thought that Homecoming was done well this year.
“I felt Homecoming was done well because they gave us a lot of activities that we could do,” said Walters. “In general, I had a good time.”
Trecy Mungai, a sophomore, agrees. She said, “Yes, I think it was done much better than last year.”
While the Homecoming dance may not have been the most popular, it’s clear that the overall sentiment was positive, and Homecoming 2025 was a smashing success.

Honestly I think the Juniors were salty from the musical chairs. Coming from another Junior.
